Moving on to September, plenty more of updates for the events for this month too! On the 1st of September, we traveled all the way down to Ipoh for a Joint Community Service Project with Leo Club of AMC and Leo Club of Peiyuan for a visit to the Loyal Handicapped & Disabled Home Association at Silibin, Perak with the theme of C.A.R.E-ing (Caring About Relationship Efficiency). Through this meaningful visit, we get to understand the life of the unfortunate. Together with Leo Club of AMC and Leo Club of Peiyuan, we donated some rice and daily products to the centre.

The Leo Club of Chung Ling High School also attended the Leo Club of Berjaya University College of Hospitality Formation Day on the 10th September 2011. It was an official ceremony whereby all the Leo members of that club were initiated and the Board of Directors of the club were installed. The Formation Ceremony is a must for the new Leo Club in order to be considered as officially formed and recognised. The founder of Berjaya UCH’s Leo Club Metro, Teoh Chia Chia who is also the president of the club made up her mind to form a Leo Club in Berjaya UCH when she decided to continue her Leo journey here. Chia Chia who was an active Leo member since she was in her secondary school wish to spreads the Leo Spirit to others through this club. We were happy to attend this wonderful event.

On the 11th of September, the Leo Club of Chung Ling High School from District 308B2 Malaysia, organized a joint community service project with Leo Club of Sunway Metro (O). It was a simple and lovely event to distribute goodies and mooncakes to the orphans at AGATHIANS Home in Petaling Jaya. Special guests from Singapore including Lions from Lions Club of Singapore Sembawang and Neesoon, DC for Leo Clubs Lion Charlie Chua from Singapore and Zone Chairperson Lion Billy Moo attended too, along with other Lions from District 308A1. On that day, we gave away some stationery, T-shirts, mooncakes and donations. It was really fun celebrating the Mooncake Festival at this home!

On the 17th of September, some 30 enthusiastic Leos from our club successfully completed a school service project which was named, "Gotta Go Green". Our aim was to make the school compound cleaner and greener for our students. Our sister club, Leo Club of Penang (City) and our Regional Coordinator for Penang (Region 1), Leo Stanley Saw also helped us on that day.

18th of September, we also helped out the FoYi Fundraiser at PISA, Penang. It was organized to raise funds for the dialysis center. We helped out in organizing the tables and chairs and also helped the registration of the children singing competition held on that day.

On the 24th of September, the BODs of Leo Club Chung Ling High School attended the District 308 B2 Leo Cabinet Installation where all the Leo Cabinets were installed. It was an auspicious event and our Club’s Key Officers even gave an interesting performance of their own. Many clubs from other states also attended the function. The day after, which was the 25th, members were invited to a friendly badminton match by the Leo Cabinet Officers. We had a great time and had the chance to build friendship with them.

August Updates 2011

Yet another amazing month for us Chung Ling Leos, as is August. We had planned and organized many activities for the month and had plenty of join projects. First off, we have the Region 1 School for Key Officers which was held on the 31st of July. Many members from different clubs joined in the School to become a better leader. They have learnt many things there.

Our club also attended the Penang Metropolitan Omega Formation Day on the August 6th. It was a memorable and joyous day as the Penang Metropolitan Omega Leo Clubs was formed. Everybody wore their best smiles for the group photos.

Then on the seventh of August, which was just one day after the Formation Day, we Chung Ling Leos attended the District 308B2 YE Camp to interact with the other Leos from other countries. We hope the bonds that have been created there would last for a long time.

Then, on the 20th of August, the Leo Club of Chung Ling High had a community service project held at Jubilee Home For the Aged where we Leos helped out cleaning the senior citizen’s bed and compound, we also fed them breakfast and had some chatting with them to get to know them and understand them better. Our DC Leo Ch’ng Kok Sheng also attended this meaningful event.

27th August – We had a joint activity at school with the Chung Ling Action Group where we had most of the tables repainted so that the classroom would look neater and nicer. We all had a good time during this event and we would like to thank the school for supplying us the paint.

On the 28th of August, the Club attended the Perak Joint Installation of our fellow Leo Clubs in Perak. We wanted to give our moral support to our fellow Leos.

After that we had our own Installation and Initiation on the 30th of August. The Region 1 Joint Initiation and Installation was held in the school hall of Chung Ling High School where the ongoing BODs stepped down and formally handed over power to the incoming BODs. The BODs were also briefed of their duties and pledged themselves to serve. The new members were initiated as well. After the installation, we also had a fellowship dinner with the Leos of Ipoh Sam Tet.

On the 31st of August, the Chung Ling Leos decided to have a visit to the Shan’s Children Home to have a Merdeka Celebration with them. Our fellow Leos from our sister club Leo Club of Sam Tet Ipoh also joined in the visit. All in all, the children were thrilled and happy and everyone enjoyed themselves. That’s all for August, folks! July Chung Ling Leo MAD-ness!

Before shooting off, please accept our sincere apologies for our late blog post. : ) There will be more coming right up!

July has been yet another productive month for us Leos, as a lot of service activities were held. Let's ROAR to that! For starters, our club attended the Region 3 Leo Club Joint Installation and Club Anniversary dinner! It was held in Hua Tang Restaurant, Alor Setar, Kedah. The main objective was to strengthen our relationship with our fellow Leos in Region 3. Pictures, pictures, pictures!

One day later, on 9th July, we had two consecutive activities in one day! In the morning, we had an environmental 3R Project around the Taman Free School area. This activity is meant to help gather up the recyclable items from the residents and donate the money earned to local old folks' homes and orphanages. We all had a very great time collecting these items and everyone chipped in their energy to help around, we could see sweat on almost everyone!

Then in the afternoon, members met up for a Durian Party with Kids! Everyone was there to show our passion for the orphans and to show them that the world cares for them! We also wanted to interact with them and to understand them better. It was held in Children Protection Society. Pictures down below.

In addition to that, we as Chung Ling Leos had turned up to help out in the International School Camp on 15th July. Many foreign students arrived from other countries and had a fun time with us. Roar to that!

Last but not least, our AGM which took place on 20th of July, where our fiscal year 2010/2011 committees stepped down, and the fiscal year 2011/2012 committees was announced their respective posts. It was held in our school hall, where a lot of our Leo Members turned up.

ECO Parade at Bukit Jambul Complex

GO GREEN is the theme! Leo Club of Chung Ling High School had done an ECO campaign together with other Region 1 Leo Clubs at Kompleks Bukit Jambul on 2nd May 2011! We had done exchanging plastic bags with 200 recycle bags with the BJ shoppers.

No Plastic Bags!!

Exchange those plastic bags with our Recycle Bag! Go Green... Recycle! Use recycle bags!!

The organizing chairperson Leo Nicholas Oh were cooperate with DC Alan to bring this project over to Penang after the project was success in ECO Summit (Ipoh)! Thank you to all Region 1 Leos for helping us on that day and we really appreciate it! Being Go GREEN, we would like to say "Use Recycle Bags when outing and not plastic bags anymore!"

At last we would like to thank everyone for supporting us on the Go Green theme! Region 1 Leos ROAR!! We had M.A.D again!! =)

Theme: LED TO LEAD

ECO Summit was held on 14th and 15th March 2011 at Fairpark Hotel, Ipoh. Our Leos including President Leo Lester, 2nd Vice President Leo Christopher Ng, Assistant Treasurer Leo Nicholas Oh and Project Planning Director Leo Ivan Lim were there to M.A.D in this project!

What they did there is really M.A.D (Making A Difference). This project is organized by Leo Club of Poi Lam High School and fully supported by DC Lion Alan Thoo! So we are taking the baby steps to Make A Difference on our mother nature!

Hey guys! What's Earth Hour actually? Earth Hour was launched since year 2007 in Australia and it was supported by Malaysia starting from year 2008. Penang State and KL state were the first two states to support this event. The purpose of having this kind of activity is actually saving energy and also the steps to turn the earth greener and cooler.

Global warming issues were seriously affected to our daily life. Some disasters came also because of global warming. Besides that Earth Day, now we are having Earth Hour too! What you can do during Earth Hour?

1. Turn off your lights starting from 8.30pm according to timeline

2. Switch unused electrical appliances from that time too

3. Try taking lanterns and walk around the housing estate

4. Chit Chatting with friends, family or neighbours in the dark

5. Enjoy the peaceful moments between this 1 hour!

1st Business Meeting 2011 Review

On 26th February, we had the first business meeting for members at the class of 3TC4. We were glad to see most of the members were turning up on that day. For your information, that business meeting was also a pre-introduction section for our new members.

Our 2010-2011 president Leo Lester had given out his welcoming speech to every members and introduce about what's Leo Club! What we should do? The upcoming events and so on!

Most of them were concentrate on listening at the events that mentioned by Lester. Anyway, that morning was really crowded for whole class and many of them were forced to sit on the floor, we were appreciate their attendance for this meeting!

New faces of our LEO members! Some of them are so cute and I hope that they will be better than us in the future fiscal year!!

Besides that, we also opened a Q&A section and also some small group discussions among the members. Let members themselves to know more each other and develop the cooperation among themselves! So overall for this meeting was quite awesome and really thanks to those who are attended this meeting! ROAR!!

This is the official poster for this year! This year our theme is Ring Tabs Collection Center which meant we collected all ring tabs and donate to charity societies! So start to collect now and pass it to us by 20th May 2011!

Yo guys, warmest greetings here to everyone who are having their exam. So after exam, have you plan to go anywhere for traveling, visiting or perhaps staying at home? If you would like to learn something that you haven't experience before, that's the good idea to read this blog post.

Last year, there was a WOK FOR LOVE Cooking Competition happened in Penang

right? I still remember many of them were at Komtar Walk cooking with our DC Alan, Lion Baki and also Leo Zenny!

There were many of participants there get ready to cook. So had you cooked on that time? If haven't, here is the chance coming again for you show your cooking style! WOK FOR FUN this coming 13rd March 2011 at Perak!

As you can see our DC Alan and Lion Baki were there supporting the event too! That day really a good response from all Leos. Too bad it was already over...

Chinese New Year Canned Food Collection 2011 *Review

In previously, we had our first project of the year that was the Chinese New Year Canned Food Collection which happened during Chinese New Year season! We had this joint project with our sister clubs Leo Club of Penang City together with Leo Club of CDK High School. The venue of this project was located at Taman Free School housing estate:

This year we had the little "god of prosperous" to guide us to each house for collecting those recycle items and canned food too! In the photo above showing RCC Lion Ong, Penang City President Leo Vincent Khor, our president Leo Lester together with the organizing chairperson Leo Edwin Khor!

Our members were there in the morning and helping to carry those items that had been collected! After the hard work, we managed to collect lots of recycle items, canned food, Chinese New Year stuffs and many more!

Besides collecting the canned food, the little "god of prosperous" had taken some photos with the family that donated those food. This was a warmest greeting that we send to those people who were donated the canned food for the charity!

From the guidance of Penang City Omega Leos, the two little "God of Prosperous" were followed us to go and wish people Gong Xi Fa Cai and get those donations from them! In the photo above showing our 1st DVP Leo Ch'ng Kok Sheng posing to the camera!

At last we had our group photos of Chung Ling Leos and we were making the sign of "Rabbit" means that this year is the rabbit year and wish everyone all the best throughout this year! ROAR!!

Chinese New Year 2011 Greetings

Yo Leos and everyone,

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! So had you enjoy your CNY holidays? Get a lot of angpaos right? We hope that there are not so late to wish everyone Gong Hei Fatt Choi, Gong Xi Fa Cai and more else.

Everyone was preparing to write their words on the red papers. Before that we were practicing on the old newspapers first and then wrote in the red papers. Writing those words was not easy because you need to consider a lot of things.

After divided the red papers equally then we started to write. Using the chinese calligraphy tools and wrote out all the nice and good words of Chinese New Year on the red papers. It was quite a tough job to write on top of the floor and need to write up around 16 pieces.

After our hard work, finally come out a few of products. It was quite rush on that time and we not really care about the hand writing anymore. But overall it was still quite nice and can be accepted right? xD

After written finish everything, we took up all the red papers and facing to the camera! Our 2nd Vice President Leo Christopher Ng, Assistant Secretary Leo Kuok Xuen and Assistant Treasurer Leo Nicholas Oh were showing the "Huat!" to everyone means wishing everyone have a prosperous rabbit year!

Lastly Leo B.O.D were standing in front of the school hall which full of CNY decorations and we were greeting everyone has a Happy Chinese New Year and have a prosperous rabbit year as well. Not to forget our words is Huat ah!! So wish everyone all the best in this year 2011!! ROAR!

A great news here to share out with all members! We had recruited nearly 300 members in this year!! We had break the record of the club members amount! Congratulations to all Board Of Directors and thanks for your hard work! Teamwork is a way to gain achievements!! Let see how we attracted people!

There was quite a number of afternoon session new members! It was a good news to us for managing the future leaders! ROAR.

Let's Go M.A.D on ECO!

Last Sunday 5th December 2010, all the Leos from District 308 B2 had make a difference! We had done the 2 days ECO Leo Day. Everything are based on the theme Go Green and ECO! On the 2nd day we had the ECO Parade around Georgetown together with other regions Leos, such as Perak, Selangor, Kedah and Perlis too!

From The Star paper news release, we really make a difference at the environment! We using the Green as the theme and together with DC Alan's advice and we achieved the success! ROAR!! Stay tuned for more updates of the M.A.D Leo Day!

Our club secretary Leo Winston Low had brought a few Leo members there to witness this event! They had watched "Sammy In the Adventure" as the movie in conjunction on celebrating Children's Day with orphanages... ROAR!

4th Fresh Clean Look School Service Project Review

Last month 18th October 2010, we had done the 4th Fresh Clean Look School Service Project at school aquarium site together with Aquarium Club members. For the year end is coming so we planned to keep the site become more clean and tidy a bit on those plants. Clearing the surrounding of the fish pond and we really had fun on the fish.

Before we start the cleaning activities, we were looking at the fish pond and waiting for teacher's instruction and she guided us on the cleaning process.

Then we followed the teacher's instructions. First we clean the behind part of the fish pond which clear those ferns and grass around the aquarium site. Our president Leo Lester was lead us to do the work! ROAR.

After clearing the aquarium site surround, we proceed to clear the surrounding of the fish pond. First we clear the plants on the rock of the pond. Next we cut the plants that surrounded the fish pond.

After clearing everything, we tried to touch up those things and picked up everything that left behind while clearing the surrounding. We packed every excess plants that cut by us into trash bags and take to the rubbish bin.

After our hard work, the fish pond turn more clean and clear! From the teacher, actually we need to maintain the fish pond at least half a year unless the plants will make the whole surrounding turns like a jungle.

We had the group photo together after our work done! ROAR!! We had done the 4th Fresh Clean Look School Service Project since July. Upcoming we will having the 5th and the 6th on this year end!

Fresh Clean Look EXTRA School Service Project Review

Well done Chung Ling Leos! We had done the good job for Fresh Clean Look School Service Project. This October we had done 2 Fresh Clean Look School Service Project! The 1st one was the cleaning drains service to prevent dengue diseases and 2nd one was the fish pond surrounding clean up! These 2 projects we had done it well! Good job Leos and thanks for your attendance.

We were cleaning the blocked drains in front of School Koperasi shop and along the gym room. We found that the gradient of the drain was different and the soil stuck on the drain were the facts causing the blockage of drains. We tried to cleaned up the soil in drains and make the water dried up.

Besides that, we also cleaned the drain which is dried but full of the soil to prevent the flood while the big rain come.

We also cleaned up the dried leaves and rubbishes from the drains and make sure there are not blockages on the drain.

We were cleaning the drains at the behind of school compound which contain a lot of dried leaves. The deep drain and the full of rubbishes.

After the overall cleaning, we did a group photo with all the members that participate on this project! As now we had done 4 school service projects! Well done Chung Ling Leos and up next we will come to the Aquarium Fish Pond for the helping of cleaning the surrounding of it. Stay tuned!

3rd Fresh Clean Look School Service Project Review

Recently we had done a lot of school service projects which all are themed as Fresh Clean Look! Now the Fresh Clean Look is come to a brand for the school service project... We hope that we can finish as least 12 Fresh Clean Look School Service Project in our fiscal year!

Now let us review on the 3rd Fresh Clean Look School Service Project.

All Leos were concentrate on working the tables painting job! We were working out there with the assistance from Board of Action Group which worked out on those stuffs!

The Action Group members were working hard on the tables painting and tried themselves to help us!

After the tables painting, we cleared up everything and cleaned up the floor which might contain of paint! The Action Group teacher advisor Mr Ch'ng also praised on our hard work and thanks to all Leos for being helping to complete every class tables painting process.

We also had a group photo with the president and secretary of Board Of Action Group too. We are looking forward for the further projects that can be done together!

So after everything was completed we had covered the tables on Form 1, 2, 3 and 4 blocks tables painting! It's cool when everyone works together! We started it from 8am until 12pm on that day. Really thank you for the attendances of members! ROAR!!

Fresh Clean Look EXTRA! School Service Project

This coming Saturday 09th September 2010 we will have a school service project! This school service project is themed Fresh Clean Look EXTRA! For this project, we mainly focus on the drains cleaning and prevent the dengue diseases that happened around us! So let us do some cleaning on drains and make there are no water accumulate in the drains to prevent the dengue diseases happened!

Multiple District 308's "WALK FOR SIGHT" project is set to be carried out concurrently throughout the District on 10 October 2010. This project is held in conjunction with Lions Clubs International's World Sight Day.

Regions 1, 2 & 3 Lions, Lionesses and Leos will be organising this event at the Penang Polo Ground, Jalan Sepoy Lines, Penang at 7.00 a.m. The Rt. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Penang, Lion Lim Guan Eng will be invited to flag off the participants to be witnessed by State Government dignitaries and Lions dignitaries. To date, the Organising Committee helmed by President Oh Aik Kim of the Lions Club of George Town have secured the support of the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) and St. Nicholas Home for the Visually Impaired as co-organisers with others to be confirmed shortly.

Participation fee for this 3Km walk is RM10.00 whereby all participants will receive a goody bag (worth more than RM10) and a lucky draw opportunity.

A special recognition will be given to donors who contribute RM500.00 towards this meaningful project - they will be conferred the "KNIGHT OF THE SIGHT" status by District Governor Hudson Hah and will receive a framed certificate to attest to this conferment.

All proceeds will be channelled to the St. Nicholas Home for the Visually impaired and Lions Sight First project Funds.

The organisers appeal to all Lions, Lionesses, Leos, friends and supporters of Lions to come forward and join us in this meaningful project. Tickets will be available through Lions Clubs and St. Nicholas.

"Give Us a Smile" Children Fun Fair Outing

On the 10th of September 2010 which fall on Hari Raya(Friday), we had attended the "Give Us a Smile" project which organized by Leo Club of Penang City. We had 6 Board of Directors there to attend our sister club's project. Actually this project is mainly focus on the fun fair outing which mean bring those children out to the fun fair.

Those children were so happy when they played at the fun fair.

Our President Leo Lester and Creativity Director Leo Kenny Lim were also involved in the games!

We had hosted 20 children from Children Protection Society Penang for the McD Dinner and also the Euro Park Fun Fair Outing. From this project, we could see that many children were so happy after having fun with us!

After the event, we had a group photo together with those orphanages, leos and lions too! Anyway, it was a good project which can share the joy with those orphanages. So our club pledge to organize something on the coming Children Day!

Charity Home Hopping Marathon

Besides the Charis Home visit, we also organized a charity home hopping marathon with Leo Club of Union High School on 9th September 2010. Why we called it as marathon? Because in 1 day, 3 hours time... we went to 2 charity homes with the same team.

Leo Ivan Lim was lead on the Young Enterprise team together with Leo Club of Union High School to visit Silver Jubilee Home, Sungai Dua and Charis Home, Relau. We only spent 3 hours on both charity homes and we did a lot of works there... Serving old folks, cleaning their rooms and environment, talk to them and many more...

After the service, we had the group photo together in Silver Jubilee Old Folks Home, Sungai Dua. ROAR for Leo Club of Chung Ling High School, YE of Chung Ling High School and Leo Club of Union High School!

After the service at Relau Charis Old Folks Home, we also had a group photo with the same team which lead by Leo Ivan Lim. ROAR again for them and really a wonderful project.

ROAR again to Leo Ivan Lim brought us to the charity home hopping marathon... Although it was not many charity homes being visited but we hope to do it again in the year end and the next target was orphanage homes!

Visit to Charis Old Folks Home, Relau

During the holidays, Leo Club of Chung Ling High School had attended quite a lot of charity services project. On the 08th September 2010, Leo Yik Fong had represent Leo Club to attend Leo Club of Chung Hwa Confucian High School charity project at Charis Home, Relau.

We had done those community services to them such as cleaned the toilets, clean the room, clean the wall fan and during the lunch time we also distributed the lunch box to those old folks from other group of people.

Later we had the group photo together with Leo Club of Chung Hwa Confucian, Leo Club of Union, Leo Club of Chung Ling, Leo Club of Penang City and RCC Lion Ong! Upnext, we also had the community service on 9th September 2010! Check out for more updates.

3rd "Fresh Clean Look" School Service Project

Region 1 Leo Clubs Joint Induction and Installation Review

Wow what a wonderful Region 1 Joint Induction and Installation had done successfully at Chung Ling High School Hall! It's our school hall and we are so proud of it! Chung Ling ROAR! XD. Anyway, leos from Kedah, Perak and Selangor were gathered inside of our hall and witness for the joint induction and installation. Really thank you for you guys' attendance!

"1 Green Malaysia" Designing Competition Review

Hi members...

Here is our updates about the recent joint project that carried by our sister clubs Leo Club of Penang City, Leo Club of CDK together with us. On 29th of August, we were having a joint project which themed "1 Green Malaysia" Designing Competition at Penang Times Square.

This event was one part of the Youth Jam 10 and also the M.A.D project by us! So did you saw them working there while you attended the Youth Jam event? Here are some updates of photos:

1 Green Malaysia was a project which organized by Penang City and jointly organized by Leo Club of Chung Ling and CDK! The main purpose of having this event is to encourage the nations to think about our country Malaysia and make it clean and green!

The participants used the recycle items to make the designing contest and their creativity were important to make the items look nice!

1st DVP Ch'ng Kok Sheng was giving the speech on this event and the organizing chairperson Leo Teoh Him Keat was speech on it and proud to see that many people attended this event and shows the support on Go Green Malaysia!

2nd "Fresh Clean Look" Review

Hello members,

Firstly I would like to thank those of you turned up on that day and the attendance is acceptable! Anyway, really thank for you guys' hard work on stretching up the wall. Thank you very much! Seriously, we helped the school and they even requested us to help them paint the wall... XD I am looking forward for this!

By the way, now let us show you those photos that taken on that day.

On that day our duty mainly was on the form 3 block compound. We were helping the school to stretch up the old wall paint and remove those black paint that caused by rain drops. Our members were attended this school service project in the purpose for bringing the better school environment for studies.

The members were showing their hard work on stretching the old wall paint! Seriously the walls there were dirty. After stretch it out.. We plan to paint it again! XD.

After we stretched out the old paint... we used the broom and water to wash the compound and make sure there was cleaner than before! In two more weeks later, we will paint it as well. I am so looking forward for the process of painting this wall and turn it into Fresh New Look!

Lastly, we took a group photos with members together with Faculty Advisor Madam Yeoh and thanks for their attendance! Leo Club of Chung Ling High School ROAR! XD. Warmest greeting and all the best for the upcoming school test and trials for form 3 and form 5 members!

2nd "Fresh Clean Look" School Service Project

Hi members,

In previous month, we had done our 1st school service project for the new fiscal year which cleaned the school hall. This month, let us continue it as the same theme project "Fresh Clean Look" moving forward to the corridor of Form 3 block.

This SATURDAY (21/08/2010) we will work together and keep the corridor clean before the Form 3 PMR Trial Examination. So we are required our Form 1, 2 and Form 4 members to attend this school service project and before that we still have a short briefing about upcoming Installation!

"1 GREEN MALAYSIA" Design Contest

Leo Club Penang City, Leo Club of Chung Ling High School and Leo Club of Convent Datuk Keramat are jointly organized a Go Green Project which named 1 Green Malaysia. This event will be attached with the Youth Jam 10 which will held at Penang Times Square on 29th of August 2010. The details are as shown below:

Leo Clubs of Penang (City), Chung Ling High School and Convent Datuk Keramat are jointly organizing a Recycling Item Design Contest with the theme of "1 GREEN MALAYSIA" on 29th August 2010 at Penang Times Square with the support from YOUTH JAM'10.

Other than the design contest, we will have some exhibition during the contest and also auction session after the contest.

Let's talk about the Recycling Item Design Contest, the details of the contest is as below:-
Date: 29th August 2010
Time: 1pm - 6pm
Venue: Penang Times Square
Admission: RM15 per group (2 - 4 persons)

Term of Entry:
-The participants must register for participation before 12pm on the day of contest.
-The contest is open to public. The organizing committee is not allowed to participate in the contest.
-Participants are required to use recycling materials e.g. bottles, aluminum tin can, newspaper, paper box, old clothing, old damaged computers & parts; then design and transform them into a creative product or household product related to Malaysia and MERDEKA. You can build a 1 Malaysia logo, a penholder with KL/ Twin Tower on it etc, depends on your creativity.
-The contest is conducted in groups: each group consists of 2 - 4 people. Registration Fee for each group is RM15.
-All entries must be completed within 3 hours time frame. All entries could be colored.
-Plagiarisms are strictly forbidden.
-The organizing committee reserves the right to carry out an auction. Proceeds will be taken as donation for charity purposes.
-The judging panel members have final decision on the result of the contest.
-The organizing committee team has the right to make any amendment on the rules and regulation of the contest.

-参赛者必须用再循环用品为材料, 例如罐子, 纸皮, 瓶子, 旧衣物, 旧电脑与零件, 或已损坏用品等, 设计及制造一个以马来西亚, 国庆日, 种族团结互助或爱国为主题的摆设品或家居用品, 例如 “1个马来西亚” , 双峰塔/吉隆坡塔笔架等等, 全由参赛者自由发挥自己的创意
-比赛以组别方式进行, 每组由2 至 4 人组成, 报名费每组只需 15 零吉
-参赛组合须在3 个小时内创作并完成其作品, 作品可涂上颜色
-参赛者必须自备其材料
-参赛作品须为组合之原创作品, 不可抄袭
-主办单位有权将参赛作品在现场拍卖,并将所得捐给慈善组织或洗肾中心. 参赛者不可异议
-评审团的决定为最后决定
-主办单位有权增删及修改比赛细则

Wow Merdeka Day is coming soon! So the Penang Youths Society is organizing a Youth Jam event on this coming Merdeka Day! This is the 2nd year which Youth Jam held in Penang. Last year it was getting good responds from teenagers, so this year they are target for 20,000 participants and especially school students to join this event!

Penang Mud Balls Throwing

This event is organized by Penang Development Corporation (PDC) as a part of the "A Million Apologies to Mother Earth" programme. For your information, this mud ball throwing programme will be held at Sungai Keluang, Bayan Lepas on this Sunday! Everyone is welcome to participate on this campaign as a total of 20,000 mudballs will be thrown into Sungai Keluang (Bayan Lepas Industrial Area)

This event was first launched last year by State Economics Planning Unit, as part of efforts by the state government to preserve the environment. Last year was held at Gurney Drive and there were a lot of penangites participated on this event! This year they move to Bayan Lepas because of this area was the industrial area and residents area. This event is officially supported by Penang State Government and it will be launched by our dearest Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng.

So Leos, if you are free on that morning... please proceed to there! We will have our joint project on this with Young Enterprise too! The details are shown below:

Treasure Hunt 2010 *Review

Woo Hoo... What a wonderful Treasure Hunt we had on the last Saturday 31st Of July. Anyway, maybe is the last day of the month July so everyone had fun on it! We had prepared a lot of games, such as Water games, LEO quiz, Team Building and many more. From this light games, our members' relationship will really improve and cooperate together.

The committee members were discussing on the games and review for the Treasure Hunt.

Leo Oon Jia Jee was posing to the camera and shows that we had successfully done it!

From left Leo Yong Yik Fong, Leo Oon Jia Jee, Leo Nicholas Oh, Leo Evan Lo and Leo Ivan Lim! We are the Leo and we are getting FUN! =)

All the organizing committees were acting fun and shows that our project had successfully done and bring fun to Leos! However we hope to enlarge it to the orphanages and bring the joy to them also! ROAR.

"Fresh Clean Look" School Service Project

We are having the school service project at school this Saturday. To be informed you, please try your best to come for this school service project. We are really appreciating for your attendances. Anyway, our job mainly is to clean our school hall. Since our senior assistant mentioned that our school hall is a bit dirty... So we decide to have a clean up to it!

EDEN Charity Concert

Hello guys,

Are you having fun in this mid term holidays? For those who went LEO Forum on last week, they will sure said they're enjoyed! Before that, our club also joined in helping the EDEN Charity Concert which organized by New Century Lions Club, Penang.

It's a charity concert from the disable person. Really touching when you see the performances, although they can't move it their legs but they still can perform well on the stage! Really have to give them a big clap.

That night most of the incoming key officers from our school were there. From the photos you can see Lester, Yik Fong, Huei Hong, Jia Jee. For Union there, Boon Yan, Kooi Fern, Ming Li, Rong Fang, Mei Ping.

We really had a great night there! Hopefully next time still have those charity concert that we can involve in!

To All Lions, Leos, Members, Committee & Everyone,

It been a terrible and shocking month for us, You see it on the News, Tv & Any other source, Our President Jason Ch'ng had left us to another dimension. The Dragon Boat Capsized & Jason was involved in it.

Other Victims Included our school teacher Mr Chin, Our members Leo Brendon & Leo Yi Zhang. Even thought we are not close together, we are still here to say goodbye & wish a safe journey for you guys. We hope you guys are Rest In Peace.

As for the other 2 victims, Yong Xiang & Zi Jun. You had our condolence from lions, leos, schoolmates & the public. May your soul rest in peace.

Jason, I know this is hard for us but we're trying our best. Don't worry, I'll try to handle things. Yong Seng will be the acting President. We're pulling through somehow. You'll be watching us, right?

9 Dec 2009 | Community Service Project : Cleaning Up Little Sister of The Poor
Leo Club of Chung Ling & Leo Club of Penang (City) once again joint organized this project & help out in cleaning the Little Sister of The Poor. It is pure HARD WORK but we did it for a GOOD CAUSE!

11-13 Dec 2009 | Annual Foyi's Children Camp

Our Committee committed the hardest task of their life before 18 which is Taking Care of The Children during the Annual Foyi's Children Camp. Appointed Camp Leader Leo Lim Yong Seng has take up the challenge and get our members, committee & Leo from our Region together to help out during this Camp. The Camp turned out to be a success. Now they learnt how to take care of kids & how to deal with problems such as crying, noise & more.

20 Dec 2009 | PCGHS Autocity Charity Concert
Our Committee & Members attended the Concert as soon as the Review Meeting of Leo Camp Ends. The Concert Crown was big or lively, but they did it all for charity! No charges were made to the public who wanted to enjoy the Concert or Passer-by. They also sell some merchant like Original Non-Pirated CD's from International Artist like SHE. They were also selling some other stuff like Christmas Hat, Decorative Items & More. The Concert was Fun & We met Leos from Bagan Sky Omega too. ROAR TO CHARITY!

First and foremost, We at Leo Club of Chung Ling High School would like to wish everyone a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival or also known as Mooncake Festival.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, we went to help at Fo-Yi's Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration.

Our president, Leo Jason Ch'ng burning up the candle for the childrens. We went for a 20 minutes walk around Fo-Yi with tanglungs.

Volunteers collect 677kg of rubbish in beach clean-up GEORGE TOWN: The stretch of the fine sandy beach at Teluk Aling in the Penang National Park appeared clean at first glance but proved otherwise to a group of people taking part in a coastal clean-up. Hidden among the creepers and vegetation at the top of the beach were loads of rubbish, including a rusty anchor and a broken computer printer. Some 150 volunteers who took part in the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Penang 2009 yesterday also found plastic bags, polystyrene containers, cigarette butts, slippers, clothes, fluorescent light tubes, fishing nets and pieces of zinc among other rubbish. Besides Teluk Aling, they also combed the nearby 300m-long Pantai Pandak during the two-hour clean-up. The participants collected 2,517 items, weighing a total of 677kg, which filled 67 trash bags. The clean-up was organised by the Centre For Marine & Coastal Studies (Cemas), Universiti Sains Malaysia, Lions Club International District 308 B2 and ICC Singapore. The ICC is an annual event held on the third Saturday of September which is co-ordinated by US-based Ocean Conservancy, a non-profit environmental advocacy organisation that promotes healthy ocean ecosystems.

Cleaning up coastal Penang GEORGE TOWN: The newly-initiated International Coastal Clean-up Penang (ICCP) 2009 may help influence policy changes to protect and preserve the marine diversity in the state. The ICCP 2009, organised in conjunction with the annual international event coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy that promotes healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems, saw about 320 participants from various organisations combing the white sandy beaches of Pasir Pandak and Teluk Aling near the Penang National Park in Teluk Bahang for garbage. The clean-up, however, was no mere gotong-royong, as the garbage would be sent for data collection by the event organiser, Universiti Sains Malaysia's Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (Cemacs). Cemacs director Dr Khairun Yahya said the data collection would reveal what sort of foreign materials were prominent on the coastline and how they could endanger marine life and other creatures. She hoped such data would pave the way for the implementation of laws and regulations that protect the sea. The idea of holding a coastal clean-up in Penang was mooted by Penangite Alison Wee, who is pursuing her doctorate in Mangrove Kinetics at the National University of Singapore. Wee said such coastal clean-ups had been held in Singapore for the last 18 years and data collected from the programmes had led to the banning of smoking on beaches. "If we find a lot of plastic bags here, we may be able to push for the banning of plastic bags on beaches," she said.

Handball Competition in Chung Ling High School

Last saturday, we organized a handball competition in our school . The competition was open to afternoon section students which means only Form 1 and Form 2 students can join. The competition is a success.
The main purpose of organizing this competition is to enable student to interact , build up cooperation spirit as cooperation is vital in Leo Club. Not just Leo Club, cooperation is important in any club, society , organization. Besides that, we can encourage closer relationship among students through this project.
Once again, well done Leo Ng Yu Jun, Organizing Chairperson for the Handball Competition.

Walk For Sight 2009

The Sighted Blindfolds in eye-opening walk in the dark.

GEORGE TOWN: It was an enlightening experience for some 2,000 participants of the Walk for Sight 2009 at Padang Polo here yesterday.

Led by the St George’s Girls School band, the sighted walked blind-folded alongside the visually impaired in a meaningful show of solidarity. They were guided by friends who served as their “eyes”.

Participant Irene Shiu, 48, said she came all the way from Petaling Jaya to support the event and would return once the event was over.

Solidarity walk: Some of the participants of the walk after the flag-off in Jalan Sepoy Lines Sunday.

The 2.3km walk in Jalan Sepoy Lines was organised by the Region 1 Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs jointly with St Nicholas’ Home Penang.

The event was to raise funds for new equipment for the home and for its Penang Low Vision Eye Clinic as well as to conduct cataract operations organised by the Lions Club.

Organising chairman Christina Choong said the event raised about RM60,000 and she hoped to make it into an annual affair.

St Nicholas’ Home executive director Ooi Chee Khoon said there are 40 million blind people in the world.

State Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment chairman Phee Boon Poh said Penang is committed to create a barrier-free environment for all.

Hello guys, I started this site like 2 years ago and it had been on and off and on and off. Sorry for not updating it for like half a year and it's going to be active (I think) soon. I have already passed on the whole site to the new incoming, please do take care this site well and don't screw it.

My love for Leo Club is very strong at this moment and sadly, I'm going out very soon. The AGM will be happening in 11 July. For your information, it's 5 days before my birthday and yes my birthday is on the 16th! Haha.

Whatever it is, good luck and I am still here. For the rest of the days in Chung Ling, I am still a member of Leo Club of Chung Ling High School.

For a little fun and to show my love for the Leo Club, I appointed myself as the Immediate Past Vice President (which never had before) and BOD 09/10 Mentor. So do find me and Tee Jin or any past BOD member for any help.

BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN ON THIS SUNDAY

Our club's third vice president, Mr Leo Andy Ooi Chia Yang is the co-organizing chairperson for this coming blood drive on 7th December 2008. This is a joint project with the Leo Club of Convent Datuk Kramat and the OC behind this project is Leo Ong Li Fei, the treasurer of their club. Please come by and help out on this campaign.

There's not only blood donation, but also health screening, eye checks and collection of recyclable items. This will be held at Kheng Tean Primary School on Jalan Perak.

Everyone, form 1 to 4 members please attend this lovely activity as attendance will be taken.

Time : 8.00am - 2.30pm

Sneak peak of holiday activity

Club Ninth Anniversary Party
Our club is celebrating its NINTH birthday in this November in the first week of holiday on 22 November 2008. This will be held at the grand ballroom of Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel. It's a party and there will be food, music, dance, show, gift and a lots more. Bring your friends and family, everyone can come, ticket will be priced at RM38, and part of the collection will goes to the charity.

Blood Donation Campaign
This is a joint project with the Leo Club of Convent Datuk Kramat which will be held in first week of December. Come and help out with us.

FOYI Children Camp
佛教义学 or FOYI will be organizing a camp for children below 12 in December about Buddhism. Our club's Second Vice President, Leo Kwang Min Xiang is currently the camp leader and he is in charge or this project. Members can come and join to have fun with the children, be a counsillor, take care of the children. This is a fun camp and will be held in mid December.

Dear members, we will be giving you guys the registration form in the coming days. Please try your best to bring in as many new members as you can. We want to build a big team. For some of your information, our school CCA registration is on January, but then we will start accepting registration in October and when January comes in the next year, we will help you to register right away.
